Firstly thanks so much to everyone who visited and supported us at both Kamers and Handmade Contemporary this last week(end). We had such a great time and we hope you all did too! Here are a few of the pics we snapped from our space which we shared with Windowsill at Kamers.
Now that we’re back to normal and getting ready for Christmas – eek we know we can’t believe it either – we have some exciting news about a few new stockists we are so happy to be supplying. We don’t want to inundate you all at once, so we will be introducing them individually (and not in any order) to you over the next few weeks : ) For a full list of our stockists please see our stockist page on our website. And if you want to be a stockist please email us.
First up is the lovely Miran & Co. a UK based online lifestyle shop which only launched a few days ago.
“The vision behind Miran & Co. was to create a special place that people could go to find unique & wonderful handmade things by designers from all over the world. From home accessories to fashion, to bath and beauty, Miran & Co. strives to have it all. We’ve hand picked it, just for you. Sure, we’re a little different, but that’s the fun part. After all, who wants to be ordinary?”
So you may have noticed we have been a little quiet lately and it’s mostly because we have just been soooooo busy getting lots of stock ready for our upcoming events. Thanks to everyone who popped in to the Spier Secret Festival Market last Saturday, it was a really beautiful day and we had lots of fun. Here’s a snap of our table all set up and ready for action.
Next week we are teaming up with Windowsill plants and flowers at KAMERS at Webersburg near Stellenbosch from 4- 9 November. You can find us and all sorts of lovely things at stand B25. Do pop in and come say hi!
And then lucky us, the CCDI are bringing Handmade By Me to Handmade Contemporary, previously known as Food Wine Design, in Johannesburg from 7-9 November. I have put together a special little range for our Joburg friends, so best you get there early : )
So we’ve gone a little purse crazy with our new range of fabrics : ) Perfect for filling with money and cards, makeup, sun cream, pencils, or even just to help tidy up your everyday handbag, or keep your valuables safe on the beach. These little guys will make your life not only easier, but oh so much prettier. They’re only R105 each and available in a huge array of colours and designs from the Handmade By Me online shop…and various lovely stockists!
Here are a few we have recently added… And for the full collection of designs currently available have a look here.
Every month Glamour has a page in their magazine called Shop Z.A. where they feature a few of their favourite local products. I love that they have this page where they take the time to find and showcase beautiful South African products for their readers. Handmade By Me products have been featured a few times, and this month we have not 1 but 2 products which have been featured. Yay thanks Glamour for always thinking of us! Below you can find our Blue Origami Birds lampshade and our Delft Plate Placemats alongside a whole array of beautiful blue products.
A close up of our Blue Origami Birds small lampshade…
We are delighted to let you all know that we are going to be selling our wares at the Spier Secret Festival this weekend : ) It’s always a great day out with loads of absolutely delicious foodie options, which I am looking so forward to tasting! And it’s a great opportunity to get started on that Christmas shopping (I know I just said it!!). Hope to see you there!
“On Saturday 25 October, the Spier Secret Market showcases the full range of Spier’s wines and hosts some of the region’s best small producers, bakers, street food vendors, food trucks and restaurants.
There will be plenty of farm-style entertainment for kids. The market is open to the public from 9:00 – 15:00; entry is free.
I am delighted to introduce to you a brand new stockist, and gorgeous little gallery, situated in the heart of Riebeek Kasteel, aptly called The Gallery.
“The Gallery is situated in the historically picturesque village of Riebeek Kasteel, located just 50 minutes from Cape Town off the N7. Curated by Astrid McLeod, The Gallery features a carefully selective mix of paintings, sculptures and ceramics by established and emerging artists. It represents a variety of local art from the Riebeek Valley and the Swartland, including artists Andre van Vuuren, Solly Smook and Clare Menck to name but a few.”
They also have an exciting new fundraiser going on at the moment, where artist Solly Smook has teamed up with Pink Lady to raise money for their fund…
