Every month Glamour has a page in their magazine called Shop Z.A. where they feature a few of their favourite local products. I love that they have this page where they take the time to find and showcase beautiful South African products for their readers. Handmade By Me products have been featured a few times, and this month we have not 1 but 2 products which have been featured. Yay thanks Glamour for always thinking of us! Below you can find our Blue Origami Birds lampshade and our Delft Plate Placemats alongside a whole array of beautiful blue products.

We are delighted to let you all know that we are going to be selling our wares at the Spier Secret Festival this weekend : ) It’s always a great day out with loads of absolutely delicious foodie options, which I am looking so forward to tasting! And it’s a great opportunity to get started on that Christmas shopping (I know I just said it!!). Hope to see you there!
“On Saturday 25 October, the Spier Secret Market showcases the full range of Spier’s wines and hosts some of the region’s best small producers, bakers, street food vendors, food trucks and restaurants.
There will be plenty of farm-style entertainment for kids. The market is open to the public from 9:00 – 15:00; entry is free.
I am delighted to introduce to you a brand new stockist, and gorgeous little gallery, situated in the heart of Riebeek Kasteel, aptly called The Gallery.
“The Gallery is situated in the historically picturesque village of Riebeek Kasteel, located just 50 minutes from Cape Town off the N7. Curated by Astrid McLeod, The Gallery features a carefully selective mix of paintings, sculptures and ceramics by established and emerging artists. It represents a variety of local art from the Riebeek Valley and the Swartland, including artists Andre van Vuuren, Solly Smook and Clare Menck to name but a few.”
They also have an exciting new fundraiser going on at the moment, where artist Solly Smook has teamed up with Pink Lady to raise money for their fund…

The price will reflect the discount for one day only, so if you have been eyeing out one of these items you should definitely take advantage!!
Yay we are delighted to see our Deco Birds in daytime green tea towel featured in the shop z.a. section in this month’s issue of Glamour magazine! We have just been away this weekend, and while driving back into Cape Town I was amazed at all the beautiful colours of spring popping up all over the place, it really is such a beautiful time of the year!
To buy any of these items please visit the Handmade By Me online shop. Please note that because of the Post Office strike we are waiting until it is safely over before we send out any more orders. For customers shipping within South Africa you are very welcome to order using our courier option. We thank you you for your patience and apologise for any inconvenience caused!
We have added a few new items to our product range lately, mostly all of which just happen to be monochrome. We wanted to share them with you here!
Firstly we have a new placemat design hurrah! Geometric Monochrome. I know a lot of you out there are scared of a bit of colour so here is something that will work on your table every single time. Try mixing and matching with different monochromatic patterned napkins, or incorporate just a bright splash of colour like a bright burnt orange or even a sunny yellow, to be honest pretty much any colour will go!
We have a new stockist in New York opening up very soon (I know!!!!) and we just sent off our first order of products for them which included this Origami Birds scarf/sarong. I am going to make to order these so get in touch if you would like one too!
We have also changed our Origami Birds napkins. These ones are the same as the other new range napkins, 30 x 30cm in size and nice and thick, and available in sets of 2 in black and blue.
