I don’t often blog about things that I didn’t make….but I absolutely couldn’t resist! Besides this is a pretty good exception considering this blog is all about sewing and making things. Oh how I dream of owning this sewing kit. It would also really go so well with my gorgeous 1960s wooden sewing box my lovely fiance gave me for christmas. (SIGH).
Don’t you agree….?

You can buy it from the link below for my birthday in April (hint hint barry : ))

I don’t even sew an I wouldn’t mind owning one of those! Very cool Se!
I know EXACTLY how you feel! Lovely!
Oh Lucky me, I HAVE one! won it in a Selvedge contest. i don’t use it, I am just inspired by it. I make sewing kits myself — i really believe in everyone knowing how to sew, don’t you? — which look nothing like this, but the clean styling and packaging of this kit is a real treat. Here is the sewing kit I made for Monticello’s shop, based on Martha Jefferson’s sewing kit: http://www.monticellocatalog.org/205433.html
Hi Laura I had a look at your kit, its really lovely! I really like the different fabrics you use as well, it gives it a nice modern feel. All the best to you.
I’m glad you think it looks modern! In fact the fabrics are all reproduction calicos from the early 19th century, and as close to Martha Jefferson’s originals as I could find! somethign about indigo & white is lovely, isn’t it!
Yes it is lovely, I’m actually working on a indigo/navy on white vintage floral pattern at the moment!
