Now available from…Fab Things

I have some good news for all you southern suburb Cape Town peeps, Handmade By Me is now stocked by Fab Things just off Dean St in Newlands. Fab Things is a gorgeous little shop stocking all kinds of awesome locally made goods, and is a great place if you are looking for a last minute gift…or just looking to give your home or someone you care about some love.

Their manifesto, which is also written on the window of the shop, says it all…

Here’s what owner Tracey Trevelyan has to say: “The ethos of the brand is about supporting local talent, job creation and social responsibility projects in South Africa. Small quantities are sourced and new fab things introduced continuously, so that Fab fans don’t get bored, and many local designers have a platform to showcase their products. So, if you like something buy it, before it is gone! There really is no reason to import anything, we have great talent and beautifully produced, great quality products right here.”

And while I’m at it, here is a lovely little feature on “Must-have colour schemes for 2014” from South African Garden and Home magazine. It seems indigo blue is indeed the way to go this year as “classic blue and white goes contemporary”. I know Fab Things have a few of my indigo blue products in stock so pop down there if you’re looking for some on-trend inspiration : )
